Are you a fan of the whacky? Does the strange enthral you? Do you like to get a little weird sometimes? If so, then Amsterdam is a fantastic city to find yourself in. There are numerous cool, crazy, fun attractions in the city, but the Upside Down Museum really breaks the box.
The Upside Down Museum bills itself as the largest interactive social media museum in the city. We didn’t know that social media museums existed until we came across this deal. Learning something new every day keeps us young.
If a museum and a theme park had a baby, and then that baby opened a nightclub and started taking shrooms, you’d get something similar to the Upside Down Museum. It is not the kind of place that you can easily describe.
The museum occupies 1500 square meters of studio space, with over 25 rooms of barmy action. The point of this museum seems to be to paint the Dutch in a new light. Rather than being all windmill and tulip focused, the marvellous main events here paint the Dutch as fun, creative, and artistic… which is what we think of when we think of Amsterdam.
What do you do here? You play. The museum encourages everyone to remember that playing doesn’t stop when you grow up. The longer you hold onto that spark, the longer you truly will stay young.
